Welcome to SARUPabroad

SARUP abroad trips often change from year to year but many are reoccurring. As a source of knowledge, the following pages are aimed to help you incorporate study abroad studios into your educational career. Thoughtful choices can be made when we are aware of our opportunities.

This web site outlines many of the study abroad programs available at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at UW-Milwaukee. New and exciting opportunities develop from year to year. Examples of student work and photos from each of the trips are also included. Be certain to check out Professor Jarosz's historic preservation; Matt's documentation of historic sites in Japan are some of SARUP's finest examples of student craftsmanship.

Financial opportunities for study abroad are continually changing. With help from the UWM Financial Aid Office and the UWM Center for International Education combined with my personal knowledge about scholarship opportunities, a section is included to assist your search for funding. My hopes are to help others begin their financial search by providing likely and reliable sources of knowledge.

Please, look over what is available so far. Each program, defined by professor, includes as much information that was available at the time of posting. You will find course syllabuses, itineraries, biographies about professors, a few press releases and often times a photo slide show, graciously provided by students who have participated in past programs. As always, you can contact each organizing professor for more information.

In conclusion, this web site would not have been possible without
assistance from the Institute of International Education and the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. Information about this financial opportunity will be found in the financial aid web pages at the end of this site. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the many friends and faculty from the SARUP staff for offering support and critique to make this site a success.
